Our Story
With thirty-five years experience in virtually all phases of Architecture and construction in a wide range of building types throughout California, RM Architects is equipped with the skills to design and overcome the immense complexity of obstacles faced while designing and building. Our highly disciplined group personally is involved “hands-on” in every step from conception to beyond occupancy. Having extensive skills in design, production working drawings, engineering, presentation / renderings, field & construction observation as well as city, county, state and federal jurisdictional agencies allows our team to effectively and efficiently design and navigate the entitlement / permit process. Our specialties include industrial concrete tilt- up, commercial office, and retail building types.
RM Architects was founded by Principal Licensed Architect/Owner, Ray Musser, Licensed Architect. He has always had a strong interest in Architecture. Determined as a child to become an Architect, he began my studies early on. In the early 70s while in high school, he received his first recognition, winning an award with East Los Angeles College for my designs. After graduation from Reseda High School, he worked in the field while enrolled in Pierce Community College. In his apprentice years, he also received training in electrical Engineering by working in this field for five years. Fifteen years later in 1990, board certified, having passed the necessary exams, he ventured out to establish his own practice.
Designing a building is an immense complex problem, involving many disciplines, materials and products, and contains tens of thousands of parts – and you must get it right the first time. That’s why Ray works out the kinks personally by being completely involved from conception through execution. RM Architects has a major concentration of work within the City of Los Angeles spanning well over 35 years as well as projects ranging from Camarillo, Ventura, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks.
